How do I connect to UNCW's wireless network?

All faculty, staff and students have the ability to connect to Hawk Wi-Fi.

ITS provides two broadcast wireless networks for faculty, staff, students and guests at UNCW:

  1. Hawkwifi can be used by UNCW faculty, staff and students to connect to the Internet and university.
  2. SeahawkGuest can be used by guests and allows access to the Internet through common Web ports. (This network does not have access to UNCW resources).

Connecting to Hawkwifi:

  1. View available networks on your device and select "Hawkwifi."
  2. Enter your UNCW username and password.
  3. Accept security certificate, if prompted to do so.
  4. Domain is "UNCW" if prompted to enter it.

Connecting to SeahawkGuest:

  1. View available networks on your device and select "SeahawkGuest."
  2. Open a browser, and you will be redirected to the access agreement page.
    • If you are not automatically redirected, you can type into the address bar and press enter to reach the agreement page.
  3. If you agree to abide by the listed conditions, click "accept."
  4. Your connection will be active for 1 hour, bandwidth limited, and you will be unable to access UNCW resources.
    • You will have to disconnect, reconnect and re-accept the agreement after the hour expires.
