What do I do if I see "Error: Cannot access email"?


All faculty, staff and students have the ability to troubleshoot their email account.

There may be several reasons that you cannot log into your UNCW email. Try the following:

  1. Your password at UNCW expires every 90 days. Double-check that your password is not expired.

  2. You may have tried to log in too many times (you have a maximum of five attempts), and your account has become locked out. Contact the TAC to have your account unlocked.

  3. You may be incorrectly typing in your password. If you cannot remember it, go through the change password procedure: Reset UNCW Password.

  4. Your account may have become disabled. If you have graduated, keep in mind that your account disappears during the drop/add period of the following semester.

  5. If you have just changed your password, there may be a 15 minute delay on logging into your email.
