How do I set up my UNCW email account in Outlook on a Mac computer?

Answer

All faculty, staff and students have the ability to set up Outlook for Mac with their UNCW email.

  1. Open Outlook.
     
  2. Select "Outlook" from the menu bar in the top left of the screen.
     
  3. A drop-down menu will populate, select "Preferences."

  4. Click add email account OR click ‘ + ‘ at bottom > new account.

  5. Enter your full UNCW email address (ex. abc1234@uncw.edu).

  6. Select "Continue."
     
  7. Sign into the UNCW sign-in page with domain credentials.
     
  8. For your organizational account, enter your UNCW email/domain password.

  9. A pop-up box may populate asking, "Outlook was redirected to the server outlook.office365.com to get new settings for your account..."
     
    • Select the check box: "Always use my response for this server."
       
    • Select "Allow."
       
  10. Your email should start to sync, which may take several minutes.
