How do I Ensure that My Gmail Account Will Accept UNCW Emails?

Answer

All faculty, staff and students have the ability to enable their Gmail account to receive UNCW emails.

  1. Go to your Gmail account, and click the down arrow in your search box. A window that allows you to specify your search criteria will appear.
     
  2. In the "From" field, enter "uncw.edu" (without the quotes).

  3. Click "Create filter with this search."
     
  4. In the next window, check "Never send it to Spam."

  5. If you have already received email from a UNCW account, you should see the number of messages next to the "Create filter" button. Check "Also apply filter to X matching conversations" to apply the filter to any UNCW email messages currently in your Gmail account.
     
  6. Click "Create filter." Any incoming email from a UNCW account will be sent directly to your inbox.
