We recommend changing your password through Enterprise Connect instead of the Password Change Portal on a UNCW-owned Mac. If you change your password through the Password Change Portal, you will need to be on campus to log in to your computer for the first time.

If you know your current password:

  1. Open the Enterprise Connect application from your Applications folder, and sign in with your username (without "@uncw.edu") and password.

Open Enterprise Connect from the Applications folder of Finder.

TECH TIP:  If Enterprise Connect is not installed on your Mac, please install it using Self Service.
Need Help? Check out our "How do I Use Self Service (Mac) on my UNCW-owned Computer?" knowledge article.

  2. Click on the Enterprise Connect icon in your Menu Bar > "Change password"

Click on the Enterprise Connect icon in the top-right of your menu bar, then click "Change password."

  3.  Follow the on-screen instructions to change your password. Once your UNCW password has been changed, your keychain password used to log in to your Mac is automatically changed as well without having to log off or restart.

If you have forgotten your password or changed it via the Password Change Portal:

If you have forgotten your current password, change your password using the Password Change Portal.

If you changed your password via the Password Change Portal, you will need to be on campus to log in to the computer with your new password for the first time.

1. Once you are on campus, log out of your device and you will be brought to the login window. Wait for the red dot to disappear in the top right (this confirms a connection has been made), and then log in with your current UNCW password.

2. After successfully logging in with your current password, you will be prompted to update your keychain or create a new keychain.

3. Click "Update Keychain," and enter your OLD password.

4. You should now be able to log in successfully with your new password.

TECH TIP: You may have Enterprise Connect installed on multiple Macs, but this application will only automatically update the login (Keychain password) on the Mac that is used to change your UNCW password. Secondary Macs that also have Enterprise Connect installed will recognize your UNCW domain password change and prompt for your new password, but you will still need to follow the process of updating your Keychain manually on these Macs.
