How do I change a clicker from "inactive" to "active?"

Answer

All faculty, staff and students have the ability to activate a clicker in Turning Point.

*Please note: To make sure a clicker is showing as "Active," you will need three green checkmarks in your TurningPoint Account under "Clicker," "License" and "Learning Management Systems."

If you are using another device besides a Clicker, then you will need checkmarks by "License" and "Learning Management Systems."

Getting 3 Green Checkmarks in your Turning Point Account
 

  1. For "Clicker," use the "How do I Register a Clicker with a TurningPoint Account?" knowledge base article. 
     
  2. For "License," use the "How do I Register a Subscription with a TurningPoint Account?" knowledge base article.
     
  3. For "Learning Management Systems," use the "How do I Link my Canvas Account to my TurningPoint Account?" knowledge base article.


I have 3 Green Checkmarks and Still Showing as "Inactive"
 

*Please note: If you have all three green checkmarks but are still showing as "Inactive" in the TurningPoint Account or Turning Cloud program, this is due to an issue concerning the connection between Canvas and TurningPoint.

 

  1. For instructors, there is an "Update" button in your "Manage" tab right above the student list. That will "check-in" with Canvas again and should resolve the issue.  
     
  2. Once all of the above has been completed, a student's clicker and Turning Account will be marked "Active."
