*Please note: You must run OS X Mojave or newer to be able to connect to the campus wifi. However, we recommend running the latest version of OS X/macOS that your computer can for security purposes. Apple only supports the 3 latest versions of macOS [as of late 2023 these are Monterey (12), Ventura (13), and Sonoma (14)].


Upgrading Your Mac Operating System on Your Personal Computer
 

  1. Connect to WiFi. If you're on campus, please use "hawkwifi."

    TECH TIP: If you are unable to connect to hawkwifi, temporarily connect to "seahawkguest." You can connect to "seahawkguest" WiFi in the library or in academic buildings. It is not available in the residence halls. 

  2. Go to the upgrade your macOS Apple Support help article

  3. Check the minimum hardware requirements of your Mac in the "Check compatibility" section.

  4. Based on the hardware requirements, upgrade your Mac to at least macOS Big Sur 11.7.8.
