All faculty, staff and students have the ability to access LinkedIn Learning.
 

Activate & Log In to LinkedIn Learning

*Please note: You must activate your UNCW account if this is your first time logging into LinkedIn Learning. Before you begin, please log out of your personal LinkedIn account.

You do not need a personal LinkedIn account to activate your UNCW LinkedIn Learning account. However, when you activate your UNCW LinkedIn Learning account, you can choose to create or connect a personal LinkedIn account. Read more about connecting personal accounts in our FAQs.

  1. Activate your UNCW LinkedIn Learning account.

  2. If prompted, log in with your UNCW credentials. 

  3. After activating your account, you can access LinkedIn Learning by visiting linkedin.com/learning.

  • What browser does LinkedIn Learning support?
    • LinkedIn Learning supports the current and previous major releases of the following desktop browsers, for additional information please take a look at the Minimum System Requirements for LinkedIn Learning site. Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome work best with the LinkedIn Learning Canvas integration. They are recommended for viewing LinkedIn Learning content within Canvas.

  • Do I  need a LinkedIn profile to activate LinkedIn Learning?
    • No. You do not need a LinkedIn profile to activate your LinkedIn Learning account. If you have a profile, you can choose to connect it to your UNCW Learning account. You can connect or disconnect your accounts at any time. 
      If you connect your accounts, we recommend adding your UNCW email address to your personal LinkedIn account. Read the benefits of adding a second email address to your account.
      Adding a second email address to your account gives you the ability to:
      • Launch content directly from your LinkedIn profile.
      • Keep your learning history if you leave the institution.
      • Add course completions, certificates & newly learned skills to your profile.
      • Join LinkedIn Study Groups to keep the learning going after completing a course.
         
  • If I connect my Learning account to my LinkedIn profile, what will UNCW have access to?
    • Profile information, such as your name, work title and profile photo. Any courses from your personal account that you've transferred to your group account. Read more about LinkedIn Learning privacy information.
       
  • If I activate without connecting my personal LinkedIn profile can I connect it at a later time?
    • Yes. Go to the “me” button on the top right of your LinkedIn Learning account, then go to “settings” and click connect my profile.
       
  • Can I control what learning information is displayed on my LinkedIn profile?
    • Yes, your LinkedIn Learning course completions won't show on your LinkedIn profile unless you choose to add a completed course. You can choose to remove course completions from your LinkedIn profile at any time.
