All faculty and staff have the ability to request software for their classroom, lab or shared computing environment. 
 

Key Dates for Classroom, Lab & Shared Computing Software Requests 

*Please note: The below schedule applies only to classrooms, labs, and shared computing environments. If you have a UNCW-owned device, you can request software at any time and will not be affected by this schedule.

  • To streamline the process and allow ample time for testing, please use our schedule for each semester to submit a software request

    • Nov. 1: Deadline for Spring semester software requests 

    • March 1: Deadline for Summer semester software requests 

    • June 1: Deadline for Fall semester software requests 

TECH TIP: Submitting your requests early is the best way to ensure your software is ready when you need it. Early submissions make all the difference!



Software Request Examples

 

  • Some examples of when you would submit a software request:

    • New software install

    • Existing software install

    • A new version of already installed software

TECH TIP: The time required for software installations will vary depending on the size of the application. Larger applications or those requiring deployment to multiple computers will take longer to install. The earlier your request is submitted, the more likely ITS will be able to meet your needed timeline.
