All faculty, staff, students and guests may change their UNCW Account password using the Password Change Portal.
- After registering your password change authentication methods, go to the Password Change Portal.
- Enter your full UNCW email address (e.g.,"sammyseahawk@uncw.edu") in the "User ID" field.
- Type in the security code characters that appear in the picture, and choose “Next.”
- Select one of the verification methods that you chose when initially registering.
- Provide the correct responses, and then select “Next.”
- On the “Choose a new password" page, enter a new password, confirm your password and then select “Finish.”
When your domain password is changed, it may take up to 15 minutes to update across all UNCW services. If the account gets locked, it will unlock after 5 minutes.
*Please note: Passwords must meet the following criteria:
- Cannot be a repeat of the last six passwords used.
- Contain a minimum of eight alphanumeric characters.
- Contain both upper and lower case letters.
- Contain at least one number (for example, 0-9).
- Contain at least one special character. (Allowed characters include: ~ ! @ $ % ^ & * _ - + = ` | \ ( ) { } [ ] : ; " ' < > , . ? / )
