How do I Setup my Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR)?

How do I enable self-service password reset?

Answer

All UNCW accounts (students, faculty, staff, guests) have the ability to use the Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) application.

*Please note: On your first login after Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) is enabled, you are prompted to complete the verification steps.

  1. If prompted, log into your UNCW account.

  2. After authenticating, either click "set them up now" for your authentication methods or select "verify" if the data is already present. At least one of three options must be completed. ITS recommends completing all three.

  3. When selecting "Authentication Phone" select either the "Text Me" or "Call Me" option.

  1. If you selected "Authentication Phone" enter the code provided and click "Verify."

  2. When selecting "Authentication Email" click "Email Me" and check your authentication email address that will retrieve the code.

  3. Now complete the five security questions from the dropdown list and provide answers.
     
  4. Click "Save Answers."

  5. Select "Finish" to complete the SSPR setup process.
