All faculty, staff and students have the ability to connect to the VPN on a Windows computer.

*Please note: If you are currently logged in to the OLD VPN client, please disconnect from that client before proceeding.

Install VPN on a UNCW-owned Computer:

  1. If you are using a UNCW-owned computer, access the Software Center from your Start menu (or type "Software Center" in the search field on your Taskbar to locate). For additional help with Software Center, please visit the "How do I Use Software Center (PC)" knowledge base article.

  2. Once you are in Software Center, click on the "Cisco AnyConnect New Client."

AnyConnect icon in the software center.

    • "push" - DUO will send a push notification to your registered phone with the DUO app installed.
    • "sms" - DUO will send a text message to your registered phone. The initial login will fail, and you will need to re-enter your username, password and the text code that was just sent to your phone.
    • Type in the one-time code generated by your key fob or DUO app.
