Before submitting your request, determine which services your department needs:

  • Copilot Studio Builders License - No Cost 
    • Setup of environment required.
    • Best for testing and learning with non-sensitive data.
    • Intended for experimentation and training
    • Not intended for sharing or production use.
       
  • Production Copilot Usage - Requires the publication of Copilot Studio Agents. 
    • Copilot Studio license included upon request - no cost
    • Requires the purchase of Copilot Usage Packs. (see below for purchasing details)
    • Secure, managed workspace
    • Supports team collaboration
    • Includes permissions, governance, and access controls
    • Designed for production and departmental use
       
  • ITS Consultation for Copilot Studio Capacity Packs (aka Interaction Packs) Publishing & Usage - ITS Consultation for purchasing Copilot Studio Capacity Packs.
     
  • How costs are handled:
    • Copilot Studio uses a consumption-based licensing model.
    • Microsoft charges for usage through Copilot Studio Capacity Packs. 
    • Required when sharing Copilot agents with end users.
    • Enables Deployment to platforms such as Microsoft Teams or the Web
    • Procurement follows standard UNCW purchasing and renewal processes.
    • Copilot Studio Capacity Packs are purchased in allotments of 25,000 interactions per month and are billed annually through UNCW's Microsoft reseller
