*Please note: In order to determine the correct license file you must know the following three things:

1. Your SAS version.

2. Your Operating System.

3. Your site number.

 

  1. Open SAS and go to the Log window to find the information listed in the "Please note."

    First open SAS and go to the log window
     
  2. In the SAS license file directory (\\seashare\sas\YYYY license files) (ex: 2019), you will see the license files, sorted by version (9.2, 9.3 …).
     
  3. To reach the license file directory: Open Internet Explorer and then copy & paste the above path in parentheses into the address bar and press enter (changing the YYYY to the correct year).

  4. Select the file with the matching version, site number & platform and save it to your computer.
     
  5. Download the license file (saving on your desktop makes it easy to find).
     
  6. From the start menu follow the path:
    • All programs ->
    • SAS ->
    • Renew SAS software
    • browse to the license file you saved.
    • If you get an error message, double check the three numbers in the first box, with the file you downloaded.
