How do I Update SAS License Files for YYYY (ex: 2023)?

Answer

*Please note: In order to determine the correct license file you must know the following three things:

  • Your SAS version.
  • Your Operating System.
  • Your site number.

  1. Open SAS and go to the top of the Log window to find the information listed above.

    First open SAS and go to the log window

    • Open File explorer - enter   \\seashare\sas\ and then browse to the current year

2. Select the file with the matching version, site number & platform and save it to your computer.

3. Download the license file (saving on your desktop makes it easy to find).

  • From the start menu follow the path:
    • All programs ->
    • SAS ->
    • Renew SAS software
    • browse to the license file you saved.
    • If you get an error message, double check the three numbers in the first box, with the file you downloaded.
