How do I Connect my Wired Device to the UNCW Network? (e.g. Xbox, Playstation, Apple TV, printers, etc.)

Answer

All faculty, staff and students have the ability to connect a wired device to the UNCW network. 

*Please note: These instructions are not for Windows or Apple laptops or desktops! For instructions on connecting your Windows device to the wired network use the knowledge base article located here. If you are a student in the residence halls connecting your Mac to the wired network, please contact the TAC.

If you don’t know your MAC address or how to find it please use the knowledge base article located here.   

 

Connecting your Wired Device:
 

  1. If your device has an Ethernet port, plug it in to the yellow Ethernet port located on the wall, using an Ethernet cable.

  2. Locate your device's MAC address.

  3. Once you've located your MAC address, go to mydevices.uncw.edu and login. 
     
  4. Read and accept the Acceptable Use Policy.
     
  5. Select “add,” and complete the form with your device's information.
     
  6. Click "submit" to register your device and connect it to the network.
