Answers

All students have the ability to upload files and make changes to their Web folder.

Windows Instructions
 

1. Open "File Explorer," and go to "This PC."
    
2. Select the “Computer" tab from the top left corner. Then, click "Map a network drive."
   
   
    
3. In the Map Network Drive window, type "\\uncwstudent.uncw.edu\www\your-UNCW-username" and click "Finish.
   Example: \\uncwstudent.uncw.edu\www\abc123

   TECH TIP: If you are trying to access your student organization folder, first ensure you have been granted access and then use the following path: \\uncwstudent\www\org\your-student-org-name.

   
   
    
4. Your first time accessing the folder will require a sign-in. Enter your UNCW username (without the "@uncw.edu") and password. 

   TECH TIP: If you are unable to sign in, try entering your username in the following format: UNCW\your-username.  

5. To save files to your Web Folder, simply drag them into the folder, or copy and paste the files.

MacOS Instructions
 

1. In the Finder, click on the "Go" menu, and then "Connect to Server..."
   
   
    
2. Type in "smb://student.uncw.edu/www/your-UNCW-username" and click "Connect."
   Example: smb://student.uncw.edu/www/abc1234

   TECH TIP: If you are trying to access your student organization folder, first ensure you have been granted access and then use the following path: smb://student.uncw.edu/www/org/

   
   
    
3. Ensure "Registered User" is selected and authenticate with your UNCW username (without the "@uncw.edu") and password.

   TECH TIP: If you are unable to sign in, try entering your username in the following format: UNCW\your-username.  

4. To save files to your Web Folder, simply drag them into the folder, or copy and paste the files.
