How do I connect my Chromebook to Hawkwifi?

Answer

All faculty, staff and students can attempt to connect their Chromebook to Hawkwifi.

  1. Click your account photo at the bottom-right of the screen.
     
  2. Select "No network."
     
  3. To turn on Wi-Fi, click the switch.
     
  4. Choose "hawkwifi" from the list of available networks.
     
  5. If you are just prompted for the identity and password, enter your UNCW username in the identity field and your UNCW domain password (same as email password) in the password field.
     
  6. If you are prompted for additional information:
  • EAP Method: "PEAP ".
  • Phase 2 authentication: "MSCHAPv2".
  • Server CA Certificate: "Default".
  • Identity: UNCW Username.
  • Password: UNCW domain password.
  1. Click "Connect". You will now be connected to hawkwifi.

     

If previously connected to hawkwifi but now unable (such as after a password change), forget hawkwifi and reconnect:
 

  1. Click your account photo at the bottom-right.
     
  2. Click "Settings."
     
  3. In the "Network" section, select "Wi-Fi."
     
  4. Choose "Known Networks."
     
  5. Select "hawkwifi," then "More."
     
  6. Choose "Forget."
     
  7. Reconnect using the above instructions.
