How do Install SAS for Windows and Renew the License?

Questions Answered in this Article

Answers

All faculty, staff and students have the ability to install SAS and renew the license on Windows.

*Please note: SAS is available virtually through the Horizon "UNCW Desktop" without installing it on your computer. For more information, view the knowledge base article "How do I Install and Configure Horizon?"

SAS is a large program that may take several hours to install. Please be patient. There is a significant delay in opening and navigating through the installation window.

TECH TIP: On the "Select Language Support" window, it is recommended to deselect unneeded languages to save disk space.

     8. On the final "Deployment Summary" window, select "Start" to begin the installation.

Renew SAS License

*Please note: On December 31 of each year, your SAS license will expire. You'll need to load a new one by March 31, or you'll receive an error message that SAS has expired.

In order to determine the correct license file you must know the following 3 things:

  • Your SAS version.
  • Your operating system (64/32-bit).
  • Your site number.

  1. To find the information above, open the Log window by going to "View" > "Show Log." The computer below is running SAS 9.4 on Windows 64-bit licensed to site 70084818.
