All faculty, staff and students have the ability to check which version of Office is installed on their computer.
*Please note: On a UNCW-owned computer, installing Office 365 from the Software Center (Windows) or Self-Service (Mac) will automatically uninstall Office 2016. For more information, follow the article How do I Install Microsoft Office 365 on a UNCW-owned Computer?
Please close all Office applications prior to the installation, and prepare for a wait time of up to 30-minutes.
UNCW-owned PC
- Follow the "What version of Office am I using?" Microsoft Support instructions for Windows.
- The subscription product should say, "Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise."

UNCW-owned Mac
- Follow the "What version of Office am I using?" Microsoft Support instructions for Mac.
- The license should say, "Microsoft 365 Subscription."

*Please note: If you are not signed into the Office apps on Mac, your license should say "Office LTSC Standard for Mac 2021."
