All faculty, staff, students and guests with active accounts have the ability to connect to the campus Wi-Fi network, Hawkwifi.
*Please note: Devices not listed here - including gaming consoles, entertainment or streaming devices - connect through the labnet Wi-Fi network or hard-wired connection instead of Hawkwifi. To connect these devices, follow the article How do I Connect my Game Console, Entertainment or Streaming Device to UNCW's Network?
*Please note: The minimum requirement to be able to connect to Hawkwifi for a Mac is macOS Mojave 10.14. If you are running an operating system older than this, you must upgrade to at least Mojave. For instructions on how to upgrade your Apple computer, please see Upgrading my Mac Operating System.
*Please note: If the "You are making changes to your Certificate Trust Settings" window appears, enter your Mac username and password. This is the same information used to log in to your Mac. For UNCW-owned Macs, this is your UNCW username and password.
TECH TIP: After connecting, it is recommended that you disable "Limit IP Address Tracking" and "Private Wi-Fi Address" to improve connection consistency:
Select "Settings" > "Wi-Fi" > tap the blue "i" icon to the right of hawkwifi > Disable "Limit IP Address Tracking" and "Private Wi-Fi Address".
*Please note: On Android 9 and greater, select "Don't validate" for the "CA certificate" option. To determine what version your device has, follow the Check & update your Android version article on the Android Support site.
