How do I connect to Hawkwifi with an Android mobile device?

Answer

All faculty, staff and students have the ability to connect to Hawkwifi using an Android mobile device.

 

*Please note: You must follow these steps every time your UNCW password changes. For androids running version 9 or greater, choose "Don't Validate" under CA Certificate.

 

  1. Go to your device's main menu.
     
  2. Choose "Settings."
     
  3. Tap "Wireless & Networks."
     
  4. Go to "Wi-Fi settings."
     
  5. Select "Hawkwifi."
     
  6. Set "EAP Type" to "PEAP."
     
  7. "Phase 2 Authentication" will be "MSCHAPV2."
     
  8. Set "CA certificate" to "Use system certificates."
     
  9. The "Domain" is "uncw.edu."
     
  10. Set the "Identity" to your UNCW username without "@uncw.edu."
     
  11. The password is your UNCW password. Press "Save."
