All faculty, staff and students have the ability to send emails at UNCW.
*Please note: We strongly recommend that prior to sending any emails to a large number of recipients, you read UNCW's Mass Email policy. This policy strengthens internal communication by addressing concerns from the campus community about excess emails sent to the entire student body and/or all faculty & staff.
UNCW Email Policies
- The maximum number of recipients you are permitted to send to is determined by your current university enrollment status.
- Students who have applied, or are admitted but not enrolled:
- 5 Recipients per message
- 50 internal recipients per hour.
- 50 external recipients per hour.
- 500 recipients per day.
- Faculty, Staff, Students, and other:
- 250 Recipients per message
- 250 internal recipients per hour.
- 250 external recipients per hour.
- 600 recipients per day
- Distribution Lists (in the global address list) count as 1 recipient.
- If you need to send to more than the maximum allowed recipients, consider requesting a Distribution Group/List.
- Please read the guidelines in the article How do I Send Out a Campus-wide Email? when you are considering sending a campus-wide email.
- The maximum email size that you are allowed to send is 25Mb.
