All faculty, staff and students have the ability to install Read&Write Literacy Software on a Mac.
 

How do I install Read&Write on a UNCW-owned Mac?

  1. Access Self Service by opening it from the "Applications" folder or searching for it via Spotlight.

  2. Log in to Self Service using your UNCW username (e.g., sammyseahawk) and password.

  3. Once the main screen loads, click the "Software" category on the left.
     
  4. You should now be able to locate the "Read&Write" application on this page.

  5. Click on the "Install" button to start the installation.
     
  6. Once the installation has finished, open Read&Write from the "Applications" folder in Finder, and follow the on-screen instructions to agree to the "User Terms." Once completed, Read&Write will be ready for use.


How do I Install Read&Write on my Personally-Owned Mac?

*Please note: You must have administrator access rights on your Mac to complete this installation

  1. Click here to download the Read&Write Literacy Software installation file.

  2. Once the download has been completed, double click "ReadWrite.dmg." This will open a new window that contains the Read&Write Application.
     
  3. Drag the Read&Write application from this window to the "Applications" folder on your Mac.
     
  4. Once you have moved the "Read&Write Gold" Application to the "Applications" folder, open "Read&Write." If prompted, click "Open" to confirm that you want to open the application. 
     
  5. If prompted, grant Read&Write accessibility access by following the on-screen instructions.

  6. Accept "User Terms" when prompted, and select "OK."

  7. When prompted to sign in, select "Sign in with Microsoft" and enter your full UNCW email address (e.g., sammyseahawk@uncw.edu) and password. If prompted, select "Work or school account," choose whether or not to stay signed in and allow access to your account.
     
  8. Read&Write will be installed and ready to use.
